About the Role

ALS Environmental is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Metals team based at our Laboratory in Kirwan, Townsville.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in science who is keen to build their laboratory skills in a hands‑on, technical environment. You’ll receive on‑the‑job training across a wide range of analytical processes, laboratory techniques and quality procedures, while working as part of a supportive and experienced team. In this role, you’ll play an important part in delivering accurate, high‑quality results for our clients through the preparation and analysis of environmental samples.

The Day to Day

• Preparing and analysing environmental samples.
• Ensuring preparation, analytical procedures and related tasks are completed in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions.
• Organising designated tasks to support daily workflow and maximise efficiencies.
• Completing tasks within required timeframes set by the Supervisor and relevant analysis standards.
• Identifying and highlighting anomalies in results, sample types or sample behaviour.

The Essentials

• A genuine interest in science, supported by either University or TAFE qualifications.
