Job summary

Tweed Shire Council in Banora Point is seeking a hands-on Laboratory Support role to keep essential services running. You will coordinate reagent preparation, sample handling, and records management, ensuring safe, compliant operations for clients and the community.

You will work independently, manage stock, liaise with clients, and use LIMS for data entry and tracking. The position offers a base salary of AU$64,608–AU$74,025 per year plus 12% super and a 70‑hour, 9‑day fortnight.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate record keeping.
• Experience coordinating samples, reagents and consumables.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate reagent and media preparation, wash bay operations, equipment cleaning and sample container preparation.
• Manage laboratory consumables, stock control and procurement to support daily operations.
• Oversee sample handling processes with accurate records in LIMS.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders for sample collection, deliveries, and service requests.
• Work independently to prioritise workloads and participate in field sampling as required.
