The Position

The Research School of Chemistry is seeking a skilled Laboratory Manager to work closely with our academics and students and ensure the safe operation and maintenance of school laboratories and oversee our chemical safety practices. This role will oversee laboratory operations, ensure compliance with chemical, laser and magnetic safety and be responsible for the chemical management and waste management for the school.

The Person

The successful candidate will have formal qualifications in chemistry, and experience working in the higher education sector. They will have strong interpersonal skills, an ability to work with a range of people, proven knowledge in chemical management and strong knowledge in Workplace Health and Safety in a chemistry laboratory environment.

The Research School of Chemistry is a leading centre of chemistry research in Australia. Researchers have a tradition of excellence in addressing the world’s most pressing chemistry issues, including computational chemistry.

The ANU College of Science and Medicine encompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environment and Society, Mathematics, Physics, and Science Communication and is also home to a number of cross-disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres.
