Lab Technician - Chemistry QA/QC (Morning/Afternoon)

Job summary

ALS Environmental is hiring two Laboratory Technicians for our Smithfield, NSW lab. You will conduct extractions and maintain QA/QC compliance while calibrating equipment, managing consumables and ensuring a clean, safe workspace.

The role supports morning and afternoon shifts with rosters that may run Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday, offering a full-time, permanent opportunity within a collaborative lab team.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in science, preferably chemistry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High level attention to detail
• Good chemical knowledge
• Ability to work autonomously or in a team
• Ability to plan and organise work
• Judgement and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude to safety requirements
• Able to stand and lift up to 15 kg

Responsibilities

• Conduct sample extractions per ALS procedures and QA/QC
• Maintain a clean workspace and organize daily tasks
• Calibrate and maintain lab equipment and calculate analyses
• Report anomalies in results to Supervisor
• Manage consumables and assist with additional duties
• Follow ALS quality procedures and safety policies
• Adhere to state OHS legislation and safety manual
• Promote a strong safety culture in the lab
