Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a Lab Technician to join the Quaker Oats team in Forrestfield, Western Australia, on a 9-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on analysing production samples, releasing compliant product, and supporting the quality team.

Responsibilities include sensory evaluation, calibrations, audits, and安全 inspections to ensure adherence to standards. Training is provided, with a rotating roster after initial weeks.

Qualifications

  • Experience in food manufacturing or laboratory environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills, especially Excel, are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect samples to perform sensory evaluation, compliance testing, and sample analysis.
  • Action out of specification results for noncompliant product according to procedure.
  • Check calibrations and maintenance of analytical equipment across lab and production areas.
  • Perform quality audits and safety inspections to meet FSSC and AIBI standards.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and prevent non-compliance; manage laboratory waste and systems.
  • Comply with PepsiCo policies to ensure high quality of food production.

To continue our success, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lab Technician to join our Quaker Oats team on a 9-month Fixed Term Contract.

This role consists of analysing oat production samples against product specifications, release compliant product to market and support the quality team.

Details:
  • Location: Forrestfield (WA)
  • 9-month fixed term contract
  • On the job training for first 2-4 weeks
  • Training: Day Shift (Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm)
  • Rotating roster after training completed: Week 1: 2pm - 10pm / Week2: 10pm – 6am
  • Monday to Friday
  • Position: Permanent Full Time

Responsibilities
  • Collect samples to perform sensory evaluation, compliance testing and sample analysis
  • Action out of specification results for any noncomplying product as per procedure.
  • Check all calibrations and maintenance associated with analytical equipment – in-line, laboratory, and production areas in accordance with Quality Dept requirements
  • Perform Quality audits and Safety inspections to ensure adherence to FSSC and AIBI standards.
  • Actively engage with internal stakeholders to perform troubleshooting exercises to prevent any non-compliance. Manage Laboratory waste and systems
  • Comply with all PepsiCo Policies to ensure the highest quality of food is produced
Qualifications
  • Qualifications in Food Science and technology and/or Certificate in Laboratory Techniques is desired but not essential.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or a laboratory environment (particularly in grain industry) is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to communicate, with strong attention to detail and excellent time maangement skills
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
