Job summary

Morrison is recruiting a Catering Assistant for Port Macquarie. This casual role covers a variety of shifts from 7am to 7pm, with parking on site and uniform and training provided. Base rate is $27.09 per hour, plus $6.77 casual loading, 12% super, and applicable casual penalties.

The role involves assisting with food preparation and service in a senior-care environment, ensuring high standards of safety and quality, and supporting the kitchen and dining teams across multiple meal periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or aged care is highly favoured, though not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Hold a police check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and sandwich-making.
• Serve breakfast, meals, and snacks across shifts.
• Follow all Food and Safety procedures.
• Demonstrate adaptability with various tasks as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in kitchen and dining areas and with equipment.
• Maintain stores and monitor stock as needed.

THE ROLE

• Assist in food preparation and sandwich-making
• Serving breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals
• Following all Food and Safety procedures
• Demonstrate adaptability by taking on various tasks and responsibilities as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining areas and with equipment
• Maintain stores and monitor stock where needed

THE PERSON

• Experience in the healthcare or aged care sector highly favoured, although not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and improve service quality, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Previous experience with electronic data entry into iPads or computers is highly regarded
• Hold a police check or be willing to obtain one
