Job summary

Compass Group Pty Limited is seeking a Catering Assistant in Port Macquarie for casual shifts spanning 7am–7pm across 7 days. Responsibilities include food prep, sandwich-making, serving meals, and maintaining kitchen and dining area cleanliness. Training is provided and uniform is supplied.

This role emphasizes compliance with Food Safety procedures and strong communication with colleagues to ensure high-quality service for clients in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or aged care is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to monitor service quality and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with electronic data entry on tablets/computers is a plus.
• Willing to obtain a police check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and sandwich-making.

• Demonstrate adaptability by taking on various tasks as needed.

$27.09 base rate + $6.77 casual loading + 12% super + penalty rates as a casual employee

THE ROLE

• Assist in food preparation and sandwich-making
• Serving breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals
• Following all Food and Safety procedures
• Demonstrate adaptability by taking on various tasks and responsibilities as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining areas and with equipment
• Maintain stores and monitor stock where needed

THE PERSON

• Experience in the healthcare or aged care sector highly favoured, although not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and improve service quality, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Previous experience with electronic data entry into iPads or computers is highly regarded
• Hold a police check or be willing to obtain one
