Job summary

EVT Limited invites a proactive kitchen-hand to support daily kitchen operations across our hotel venues. You will assist with meal prep support, dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards in line with food safety guidelines.

You will work flexible shifts in a fast-paced hospitality environment, learn from senior chefs, and contribute to a welcoming guest experience across EVT brands including QT, Rydges, Atura and LyLo.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen hand or similar experience in a hotel, pub, restaurant, or café.
• Understanding of food safety and OH&S standards and ability to maintain hygienic kitchen.
• Ability to support daily kitchen operations and follow directions.
• Willingness to participate in training and grow within the team.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as kitchen hand/steward or similar in a hotel, pub, restaurant, or café.
• Strong understanding of food safety and OH&S standards, with ability to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Ability to support daily kitchen operations efficiently and complete tasks as directed by senior chef.
• Washing dishes and kitchen equipment and keeping the kitchen clean and organised
• Skilled in minimizing waste through careful handling of food and resources.
• Positive attitude with strong communication skills and ability to foster teamwork within kitchen and service teams.
• Flexible and adaptable to varying shifts and tasks across different areas of the hotel.
• Physically capable of performing manual duties including lifting, standing for extended periods, and cleaning.
• Commitment to professional appearance and adherence to workplace policies and grooming standards.
• Willingness to participate in training sessions to develop culinary skills and grow within the team.
