Job summary

Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Steward on a casual basis to support our busy kitchen operation in Scoresby, Victoria. The role focuses on cleanliness, organisation and efficient kitchen flow, essential to delivering excellent guest experiences in a dynamic hotel environment.

You will operate dishwashing equipment, maintain cleanliness across kitchens and storage areas, and assist chefs with daily duties while adhering to food safety standards

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment (essential).
• Reliability, punctuality and dependability are required.
• Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster, including AM/PM shifts and public holidays.
• Reliable own transportation is preferred due to limited public transport access.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashers and industrial cleaning equipment.
• Keep kitchen areas, benches and storage spaces clean and organised.
• Ensure garbage is removed promptly and equipment stored correctly.
• Prepare equipment for functions (BBQs, chafing dishes, plates, etc.).
• Assist chefs with general kitchen duties as required.
• Adhere to company policies, food safety standards and safe work practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating commercial dishwashers and industrial cleaning equipment
• Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen areas, benches, and storage spaces
• Ensuring garbage is removed promptly and equipment is correctly stored
• Preparing equipment required for functions (BBQs, chafing dishes, plates, etc.)
• Assisting chefs with general kitchen duties as required
• Adhering to all company policies, procedures, food safety standards, and safe work practices

What We’re Looking For
