Job summary

Roshana Care Group is seeking a part-time Kitchen Hand for our Fig Tree Point Aged Care facility in NSW. You will join a small team delivering high-quality food service, with afternoon shifts from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM across weekdays and weekends.

The role emphasizes friendly service, adherence to food safety, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support residents in a welcoming, home-like environment.

Qualifications

• Food Handlers Certificate is required.
• Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen setting is preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar kitchen role is advantageous.
• Understanding of food safety principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, attentive service and products to customers.
• Prepare food and beverages to standard operating procedures.
• Complete cleaning tasks as directed by SOPs or the Chef on duty.
• Comply with the food safety program, policies, and procedures.
• Assist Chef on duty with catering-related issues as needed.
• Maintain stock levels according to stock control procedures.
• Report workplace hazards immediately.

Roshana Fig Tree Point Aged Care is a 73‑bed home that feels welcoming for both residents and staff, with comfortable rooms, shared lounges and a calm, homely atmosphere. Residents are supported by a stable, multidisciplinary team that values teamwork, open communication and safe, person‑centred care every day.

We are looking for Kitchen Hand to join our aged care team at Roshana Fig Tree Point Aged Care, in a Part-Time capacity. The role requires candidates to be available for afternoon shifts from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with shifts available across both weekdays and weekends.

About the Role

The role of the Kitchen Hand is to provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service and products to our valued customers. The Kitchen Hand is responsible for assisting in the delivery of high-quality products whilst adhering to the policies and procedures of Roshana. We are seeking a Kitchen Hand to work at our Roshana Fig Tree Point Aged Care facility, located in Toronto, NSW.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver consistent high quality customer service to both internal and external customers to the prescribed service standards.
• Prepare food and beverage products to the prescribed standard operating procedures/ duty statement
• Complete cleaning tasks as prescribed by the standard operating procedures/duty statement or as directed by the Chef on duty
• Compliance with food safety program, policies, and procedures
• Advise Chef on duty of any catering related issues and needs where required.
• Maintain stock levels as per stock control systems and procedures to ensure customers’ needs and presentation standards are meet
• To report all workplace hazards immediately e.g., walkway obstructions, poor lighting, faulty electrical equipment, incorrectly stored boxes, or obstructed exit door

Skills, Attributes and Experience

• Food Handlers Certificate
• Written and Verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• An understanding of food safe principles.
