Job summary

Roshana Care Group in New South Wales is seeking a Kitchen Hand to join the Roshana Fig Tree Point Aged Care team on a part-time basis. The role focuses on delivering friendly service and supporting kitchen operations during afternoon shifts.

You will work at Roshana Fig Tree Point Aged Care in Toronto, NSW, with shifts from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM across weekdays and weekends, offering on-the-job training and the opportunity to contribute to compassionate aged care.

Qualifications

• Food Handlers Certificate is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment is preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Understanding of food safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality customer service to internal and external customers.
• Prepare food and beverage products to SOPs/duty statements.
• Complete cleaning tasks as prescribed by SOPs/duty statements or as directed by the Chef on duty.
• Comply with food safety program, policies, and procedures.
• Advise Chef on duty of any catering related issues and needs where required.
• Maintain stock levels per stock control systems to meet customers' needs and presentation standards.
• Report workplace hazards immediately.

Roshana Fig Tree Point Aged Care is a 73-bed home that feels welcoming for both residents and staff, with comfortable rooms, shared lounges and a calm, homely atmosphere. Residents are supported by a stable, multidisciplinary team that values teamwork, open communication and safe, person-centred care every day.

We are looking for Kitchen Hand to join our aged care team at Roshana Fig Tree Point Aged Care, in a Part-Time capacity. The role requires candidates to be available for afternoon shifts from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with shifts available across both weekdays and weekends.

About the Role

The role of the Kitchen Hand is to provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service and products to our valued customers.

The Kitchen Hand is responsible for assisting in the delivery of high-quality products whilst adhering to the policies and procedures of Roshana. We are seeking a Kitchen Hand to work at our Roshana Fig Tree Point Aged Care facility, located in Toronto, NSW.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver consistent high quality customer service to both internal and external customers to the prescribed service standards.
• Prepare food and beverage products to the prescribed standard operating procedures/ duty statement
• Complete cleaning tasks as prescribed by the standard operating procedures/duty statement or as directed by the Chef on duty
• Compliance with food safety program, policies, and procedures
• Advise Chef on duty of any catering related issues and needs where required.
• Maintain stock levels as per stock control systems and procedures to ensure customers' needs and presentation standards are meet
• To report all workplace hazards immediately e.g., walkway obstructions, poor lighting, faulty electrical equipment, incorrectly stored boxes, or obstructed exit door

Skills, Attributes and Experience

• Food Handlers Certificate
• Written and Verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• An understanding of food safe principles.
