Job summary

St Vincent's Care Services Yennora is seeking a Kitchen Hand to join a compassionate team supporting residents with meals and service in a 141-bed facility 29km from Sydney.

You will help in kitchen, serving, wash-up, laundry and maintenance tasks as needed, with duties aligned to our Heartprint model and commitment to person-centred care. Certification and checks required.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Hospitality and/or Food Preparation desirable.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate essential or willing to obtain.
• Experience in Hospitality, Aged Care, Hospital environment or related field.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to assist laundry and maintenance tasks as required.
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check within the last 6 months.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check will be a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality food service to residents, customers and staff.
• Work in kitchen or serving, including wash-up duties as required.
• Support laundry and maintenance tasks when needed (unloading deliveries, moving furniture).
• Provide catering/kitchen, laundry and maintenance services aligned with our mission and food safety standards.

St Vincent's Care Services Yennora (locally known as Rosary Village) is a 141-bed facility located approximately 29km from Sydney's CBD.

1x Permanent Full-time - Mon to Fri 8am to 4pm.

2x Permanent Part-time - Min. 3 days a week, 4pm to 8pm.

Things that work for us:

• Cert III in Hospitality and/or Food Preparation Certificate desirable
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate essential or willing to obtain.

• Experience in Hospitality, Aged Care, Hospital environment and/or related field ideal

• Providing services that support high quality food services outcomes for residents, customers and staff of the Facility
• Ability to work in the kitchen or on serving, completing wash-up duties &/or whatever is required to provide an excellent food service for our residents.

• Willingness to support the laundry and maintenance team when required with duties like - unloading deliveries, moving furniture to facilitate repairs/ maintenance work.
• An ability to provide catering/ kitchen, laundry and maintenance services that is consistent with the mission and philosophy of our organisation, and food safety standards

• High level of customer service skills

• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (within the last 6 months)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check will be a requirement of this role.
