Job summary

Eden Academy Fraser Rise in Queensland’s Fraser Coast region seeks a passionate Chef to lead a professional, commercial-style kitchen serving 112 children. Operating from 6:30am to 6:30pm, you will design, prepare and deliver vibrant, balanced menus that nourish the children and support educators.

This role requires strong food-safety knowledge and the ability to manage stock, budgets and dietary needs while building connections with families and the local community.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent needed.
• Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent required.
• Food Safety Certificate required.
• Working with Children Check current.
• Understanding of diverse dietary needs and food sensitivities.
• Australian working rights required.
• Impeccable personal presentation.
• Experience in menu creation, bulk meal prep, online ordering, stock management and budget control.
• Proven experience in commercial cooking.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily meals in line with nutrition guidelines and centre requirements.
• Cater to diverse dietary needs with confidence and care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
• Engage with children and educators to promote healthy eating habits.
• Build genuine connections with families and create a sense of community.
