Job summary

Mount Lilydale Mercy College is seeking a Junior Visual Art Technician to support our Visual Arts teachers and students in a dynamic, well-equipped learning environment. The role is permanent/ongoing, part-time at 0.60 FTE, with duties across practical classes, setup, and exhibition support.

You will bring practical Visual Arts qualifications or studio experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Visual Arts/Design or practical studio experience.
• Practical understanding of art materials, equipment and studio spaces.
• Strong attention to detail and stock management.
• Organised, proactive, and able to work with guidelines.
• Commitment to child safety and safe learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up materials, equipment and tools for Visual Arts classes.
• Provide basic technical assistance to teachers during classes.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly Visual Arts spaces.
• Monitor stock levels and prepare orders for art supplies.
• Mount, hang and display student artwork across the College.
• Support setup and pack-up of the College Art Exhibition and Arts events.
• Undertake routine checks and report damage.
• Collaborate with the Visual Arts team to meet departmental needs.
