Homes & Granny Flats is a growing residential construction company specialising in homes, granny flats and modular building solutions.

We’re looking for a Junior Steel Detailer to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with some CAD, drafting or steel detailing experience who wants to develop their skills and build a long-term career in the construction industry.

You’ll work alongside experienced team members and gain hands‑on experience preparing drawings for real residential and modular construction projects.

About the role

You’ll assist with:

• Preparing steel detailing and fabrication drawings
• Reading architectural and engineering drawings
• Assisting with material take‑offs and steel schedules
• Making drawing updates and revisions
• Working with engineers, project managers and the factory team
• Learning how steel designs translate into real-world construction
• Keeping drawings and project documentation organised

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

• Keen to learn and develop their detailing skills
• Comfortable using AutoCAD, Tekla or similar CAD software
• Able to read and understand technical drawings
• Detail-focused and accurate
• Practical and interested in how things are built
• Reliable, organised and willing to ask questions
• A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a team

Previous steel detailing or construction experience is an advantage, but we're more interested in your attitude, ability and willingness to learn.
