Job summary

Lantrak is seeking a Junior Project Engineer to join our Victorian Projects team. You will work closely with the Senior Projects Manager across statewide civil and infrastructure projects, providing day-to-day project support from proposals through to reporting and administration.

We value organised, commercially minded individuals who are keen to learn and develop in the civil construction industry, with exposure to client liaison, cost tracking and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Graduate to ~2-3 years industry experience preferred.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Good numeric skills and ability to work with project data.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Projects Manager on Victorian projects.
• Assist with proposals, client correspondence and project documentation.
• Coordinate pricing inputs, documentation and information for tenders.
• Maintain project data, records and reporting (weekly/monthly).
• Contribute to monthly P&L tracking and cost reporting.

About the Role

With a strong pipeline of current and upcoming projects, we are looking for a Junior Project Engineer to join our Victorian Projects team and work closely with our Senior Projects Manager across projects statewide.

This is a great opportunity for a junior engineer looking to build their career within the civil and infrastructure industry and gain exposure to the commercial, operational and administrative side of major project delivery.

Working directly with the Senior Projects Manager, you will provide day-to-day project support across Lantrak's Victorian operations. You'll assist with everything from proposals and client correspondence through to reporting, project data, financial tracking and general project administration.

You'll be involved across multiple projects and work closely with our internal operations teams, clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Projects Manager across projects throughout Victoria
• Assist with the preparation and submission of proposals and project documentation
• Coordinate proposal information, pricing inputs and supporting documentation
• Follow up clients regarding tenders, project requirements, outstanding information and actions
• Liaise with clients and project stakeholders throughout project delivery
• Assist with project mobilisation, setup and ongoing administration
• Maintain accurate project data, records, registers and documentation
• Collate operational and commercial data for project reporting
• Prepare and assist with weekly and monthly project reports
• Assist with monthly P&L reporting, cost tracking and project performance reviews
• Track project progress, variations, quantities and other key commercial information
• Assist with client meetings, including preparation of information and follow-up of actions
• Work with internal operational teams to ensure project requirements and commitments are communicated and followed through
• Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Projects team
• Help identify outstanding actions, issues and opportunities requiring follow-up

About You

We're looking for someone at the beginning of their project engineering career who is organised, commercially minded and keen to learn.

You may be a recent graduate or already have some experience within civil construction, infrastructure, engineering or project coordination.

Ideally, you will have:

• A qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Graduate to approximately 2-3 years' industry experience
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence working with numbers, spreadsheets and project data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
• Good Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
• An understanding of project costs, budgets or P&L reporting would be advantageous
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks and follow-ups
• A genuine interest in major civil and infrastructure projects
