Job summary

HII's Mission Technologies division in Columbia, MD is hiring a high‑impact Junior Cyber Architect to engineer the next generation of cybersecurity defenses. In this role, you’ll design, build, and sustain powerful cyber infrastructures that safeguard critical operations and strengthen national security.

This onsite position requires a college background, Linux and networking knowledge, and scripting experience with Bash, Python, and Perl.

Qualifications

• 0 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of Linux operating system.
• Knowledgeable in networking.
• Experience with Bash, Python, and Perl scripts.
• Experience with vulnerability scan application such as SCAP, Nessus, Anchore, SonarQube, and Fortify.
• Familiar in implementing DISA STIG configurations.
• Familiar with NIST 800-53 and 171.
• Able to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Cyber Architecture: Design and develop new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
• Security Integration: Integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructure, and design cybersecurity architectural artifacts.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and engineer innovative mitigation strategies.
• Security Lifecycle: Ensure security is established and maintained for operations, covering: security requirements definition and risk assessment; vulnerability testing/scanning and systems hardening; incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
