Job summary

A&O Shearman is a global law firm seeking a qualified solicitor to join Advance Delivery Legal (ADL) in Australia. The role focuses on multi-jurisdictional financing transactions, with drafting and reviewing facility agreements, security documents, and ancillary loan documents.

Ideal candidates hold an Australian practising certificate and have 1–3 years PQE in banking, finance or lending. You will support transaction execution, liaise with Partners, and contribute to innovative legal delivery

Qualifications

Qualified solicitor with Australian practising certificate.
Experience drafting and reviewing loan agreements, security packages and ancillary documents.
Experience supporting financing transactions from inception to completion.
Strong understanding of banking and finance principles and transaction structures.
Demonstrates sound judgement, commercial awareness and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Develop strong reworking relationships with Partners, Senior Associates and instructing teams on financing transactions (corporate lending, leveraged finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance and general banking).
Assist with drafting and reviewing finance documentation (facility agreements, checklists, security documents, intercreditor agreements).
Conduct legal due diligence and support transaction execution across multi-jurisdictional matters.
Manage transaction processes including coordinating deliverables, conditions precedent, signing and completion requirements.
Establish high standards for quality, efficiency and client service; quality control of work products and documentation accuracy.
Manage and report on progress; liaise with internal and external clients to address points of relevance or concern.
Support development of innovative legal solutions and process improvements in Banking & Finance.
Represent and promote ADL across the A&O Shearman network in meetings and with internal clients.
Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the network and contribute to team development.
