Job summary

SKJ Consulting Group is seeking a Junior / Assistant Accountant to join our growing finance team in Brisbane. The role focuses on accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations, with exposure to management reporting and cloud accounting platforms.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, familiarity with Xero, and a desire to build a long-term career in accounting within a flexible, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with Xero or similar accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and take ownership of tasks through to completion.
• Comfortable working independently within a flexible and collaborative team environment.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• A desire to learn and build a long-term career in accounting.

Responsibilities

• Processing supplier invoices and payment runs.
• Managing accounts receivable and debtor collections.
• Performing bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting month-end accounting processes.
• Assisting with management reporting.
• Communicating with clients, customers and suppliers.
• Maintaining accurate financial records.
