Job summary

The Supreme Court of Victoria is seeking ambitious, legally qualified individuals for future Associate vacancies in the Judges' chambers. Successful applicants will observe civil matters, including complex interlocutory applications and mediations, gaining valuable experience and mentorship.

Duties include clerking, drafting orders, court liaison, legal research, proofreading, and assisting with judgments. Post-admission experience is valued; strong academic records and excellent communication

Qualifications

• High academic achievement in law and related disciplines.
• Strong legal research ability with attention to detail.
• Proven skill in statutory interpretation and analysis.
• Excellent written and oral communication with legal professionals and the public.
• Outstanding organisational capabilities and sound judgement.
• Careful proofreading and editing of legal documents.
• Post-graduate legal experience is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Performing administrative tasks, including maintaining court records and preparing material for use by the judge in court.
