Job summary

Northside Veterinary Centre in Braddon, Canberra ACT, is seeking an energetic Animal Attendant to join our team in an entry-level role. No experience required as full on-the-job training is provided. You’ll be the heartbeat of our hospital operations, contributing to cleaning, stock control, and patient care.

Hours include 8am–6pm Monday to Friday and 8am–1pm Saturday, with a rotating roster. Sundays and public holidays are closed, allowing you time to recharge while gaining valuable experience

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to stand for long periods and assist with cleaning and hospital upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Sterilise surgical equipment and maintain sterile operating areas.
• Keep the hospital clean, safe, and orderly.
• Assist with patient care and husbandry.

The Role: Your Journey Starts Here

No experience? No problem- this is an entry level position. We are looking for honest, reliable, and hardworking animal lovers. We provide full on-the-job training to help you start your journey in the field.

As an Animal Attendant, you'll be the heartbeat of our hospital operations. Your day will be packed with variety, including:

• Mastering the art of surgical equipment sterilisation.
• Keeping our hospital sparkling and safe.
• Helping provide top-tier patient care and husbandry.
• Assisting with pathology and stock control.
• Learning safe animal restraint and delivering quality customer care.

Availability & Hours

We work hard while the sun is up! Our clinic hours are 8am-6pm Mon-Fri and 8am-1pm on Saturdays. You'll work a rotating roster with early morning shifts and evening shifts (but don't worry, You'll still be home for dinner). The best part? We are closed Sundays and all public holidays, so you can recharge!
