Java Software Engineers | Mid-Level & Senior

Multiple Positions Available

Melbourne | Hybrid

Contract Opportunities

We are currently looking for multiple Java Engineers across mid-level and senior levels to join a major technology program in Melbourne.

These roles will suit strong backend engineers who enjoy working on modern, highly integrated systems and solving problems across APIs, cloud services and distributed applications.

You will be joining an established engineering environment with a significant pipeline of development underway. The work is predominantly backend focused, with opportunities to take ownership of technical solutions and contribute to how new services are designed and delivered.

What You'll Be Doing

Depending on your level of experience, you will be involved across:

• Building backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Developing and integrating REST APIs
• Working across AWS-based applications and services
• Designing and delivering microservice-based solutions
• Building integrations between new and existing technology platforms
• Working with asynchronous and event-based services
• Developing reliable, maintainable and well-tested code
• Troubleshooting issues across interconnected applications
• Contributing to technical design and engineering decisions
• Working closely with other engineers to deliver new platform capabilities

Senior engineers will have greater responsibility for technical direction, solution design and supporting other developers within the team.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with engineers who have strong commercial experience across a combination of:

Java | Spring Boot | AWS | Microservices | REST APIs

You should also bring:

• Experience building production backend applications
• A good understanding of modern software design principles
• Experience integrating applications, services or external systems
• Knowledge of automated testing and contemporary development practices
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within Agile engineering teams
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

For the Senior opportunities, we're particularly interested in engineers who have taken ownership of solution design, worked across complex systems and can operate with a high degree of autonomy.

For the Mid-Level opportunities, we're looking for solid hands-on developers who have good Java fundamentals and experience delivering production software within established engineering teams.
