The Department of Education & Training, Victoria invites applications for the Infrastructure Portfolio & Resource Coordinator within ITS. This role provides structured visibility of workload, resource utilisation and demand across ITS, enabling evidence-based decision making and governance.

You will maintain allocation models, track FTE and contractor resources, coordinate with Platforms, Network and Operations, and help forecast capacity over 3–6 months.

  • Maintain a consolidated view of resource allocation across ITS, categorised by Run, Modernise, Enable and Assure.
  • Track allocation across FTE and contractor resources.
  • Identify over-allocation, sustained workload pressure, and emerging capacity risks.
  • Prepare structured reporting for the ITS Capacity & Portfolio Review.
  • Maintain key artefacts including allocation models and initiative registers.
  • Capture decisions and ensure visibility of trade-offs and prioritisation outcomes.
  • Liaise with ITS managers across Platforms, Network and Operations.
  • Engage with Digital and delivery portfolios to ensure demand visibility.

About the Department

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

Information Technology Service Branch (ITSB) provide the digital foundation that supports safe, equitable, and effective learning across the Department of Education. From the networks connecting our schools, to the systems that protect our data, to the tools staff rely on every day - our role is to ensure technology works where and when it's needed.

About the Role

The Infrastructure Portfolio & Resource Coordinator provides structured visibility of workload, resource utilisation, and demand across ITS. The role enables evidence-based decision making by maintaining a consolidated view of capacity allocation, externally driven demand, and forward workload pressures. It supports governance processes that ensure resource commitments are visible, sustainable, and aligned to departmental priorities.

  • Capture decisions and ensure visibility of trade-offs and prioritisation outcomes.

  • Engage with Digital and delivery portfolios to ensure demand visibility.
  • Support alignment without assuming delivery ownership.
  • Contractor & Workforce Insight
  • Maintain visibility of contractor allocation, duration, and alignment.
  • Identify risks related to contractor dependency and knowledge transfer.
