The Queensland Parliamentary Service is seeking a skilled IT Systems Engineer to maintain and enhance enterprise ICT systems across infrastructure, networks, and platforms. This role offers a mix of operational support and project delivery, including system design, implementation, and technical leadership. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will help ensure secure, reliable services that support the core functions of Parliament.

The Queensland Parliamentary Service is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Systems Engineer to support the delivery of secure, stable, and high-performing ICT systems across the organisation. This role is ideal for a technically capable professional who thrives in both operational and project environments, and who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver enterprise-grade solutions that support the critical functions of Parliament.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and optimise ICT infrastructure, networks, and platforms to ensure secure and stable system performance.
  • Lead technical delivery of IT projects, including system design, implementation, and documentation.
  • Monitor system health, respond to outages, and provide Tier 3 support for complex technical issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver reliable services and support.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and client-focused service.
  • Participate in an on-call roster and respond to emergencies outside business hours as required.

You are a technically strong and solutions-focused IT professional with experience in enterprise environments. You enjoy solving complex problems, leading technical initiatives, and working collaboratively with clients, vendors, and colleagues. You bring a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering secure and reliable systems.

Highly Desirable Qualifications
  • Degree or recognised qualifications in ICT or a related discipline.
  • Industry certifications such as: Microsoft Azure (AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500); Microsoft Security & Identity (SC-900, SC-300); CompTIA Network, Security, ITIL, TOGAF, CISSP.
Your Key Strengths
  • Experience with Azure, O365, Hyper-V, MS Sentinel, Defender, SCOM, PRTG, Rapid7, Entra ID, Active Directory, and ServiceNow.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across diverse environments.
  • Ability to analyse risks, resolve faults, and develop secure, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability in time management and task prioritisation.
  • Clear and confident communication, including technical documentation and client interactions.
