Job summary

Charlton Brown is seeking a Systems Administrator to support and secure our ICT infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will manage operating systems, servers, VMs and networks while ensuring reliable, documented systems that meet staff and organisational needs.

You will administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and Linux-based environments, with a focus on security, backups and incident resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, computer or software systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in systems administration and ICT infrastructure support.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments.
• Experience supporting operating systems, servers, users and network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Experience configuring virtual machines, including Linux-based environments.
• Knowledge of system security, backup, monitoring and performance optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, maintain and support operating systems, servers, VMs and cloud services.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, user accounts, licences and access controls.
• Monitor server/network availability, security, capacity and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve server, workstation and network faults.
• Provide timely technical support to staff and authorised users.
• Configure Linux VMs and cloud infrastructure on Azure/AWS.
• Implement security controls, updates, patches and endpoint protection.
• Administer backup, recovery and business-continuity arrangements.
