Job summary

The IT Security Officer at CAE Australia is responsible for protecting information systems and data against threats, breaches and vulnerabilities, and ensuring business continuity through robust security controls.

You will monitor and improve security measures in line with Australian Defence standards, work on-site at RAAF Base Amberley five days a week, and pursue/maintain Defence Security Clearance while contributing to a global, safety-focused organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, information technology or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience as an IT Systems & Security Administrator.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management.
• On-site work at RAAF Base Amberley five days a week.
• Australian Citizen who can obtain/maintain Defence Security Clearance.

Job description

The IT Security Officer is responsible for protecting the organisation’s information systems and data against threats, breaches and vulnerabilities. This role ensures business continuity by maintaining robust security measures that uphold the principles of confidentiality, integrity and availability. In addition to core IT system administration duties, the ITSO plays a key role in implementing, monitoring, and improving security controls aligned with Organisation and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, information technology or equivalent professional experience
• Strong experience as an IT Systems & Security Administrator
• Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management
• Ability to work, on-site at RAAF Base Amberley 5 days a week
• Ability to obtain/maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance, ideally already holding one – must be an Australian Citizen!

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally have experience within the Defence industry
• Strong understanding of computer hardware, network devices and protocols
• Familiarity with Australian Information Security Manual (ISM), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
