What does the job look like?

As an IT Architect in our Supply Chain business, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering business and technology solutions that drive operational excellence across Linfox’s warehouse, transport, data, digital, and customer portal domains. You’ll lead solution architecture and design work across teams, ensuring solutions are reusable, scalable, and aligned with our enterprise architectural vision.

Reporting to the Head of Architecture, you’ll collaborate with product and project teams, technical leads, and business stakeholders to map business requirements to technical capabilities, balancing sustainability, supportability, security, and performance.

This is a full-time onsite position located at our Essendon Fields headquarters.

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the solutioning of new capabilities, ensuring requirements are gathered and challenged constructively.
  • Analyse multiple solution alternatives and align teams on recommendations that consider impacts across IT and business.
  • Create high-quality solution documentation, including technical, functional, integration, data, and transition views.
  • Work closely with discovery and business analysis teams to identify early problems, decisions, and gaps.
  • Support successful delivery of solutions with product and technical teams.
  • Escalate issues, risks, or broader considerations as required.
  • Contribute to strategic architecture initiatives, vendor/product evaluations, and enterprise architecture duties such as maintaining scorecards, product catalogues, and technology roadmaps.

Are you the one?

We’re looking for a technically skilled, solutions-focused professional with a passion for supply chain technology and enterprise architecture. You’ll bring hands-on experience in designing and integrating complex business applications, and a collaborative mindset to help drive innovation across Linfox.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in STEM or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in a junior architect or senior IT analyst role, ready to step into a lead architect position.
  • 3+ years’ experience in application architecture or senior IT analyst roles (e.g., integration, warehouse management systems).
  • Experience in supply chain or logistics, implementing and integrating packaged applications.
  • Familiarity with supply chain enterprise applications such as SAP S4 Core, SAP S4 EWM, SAP TM, Blue Yonder TMS, warehouse automation, customer and supplier portals, order management systems, and integration/process digitisation platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with complex projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills up to GM and President level.
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and IT operating models (e.g., ITIL).
  • Ability to design, document, and deliver scalable, reusable solutions.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Collaborative team player with a customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work toward common goals in an inclusive and open manner.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
