Hanwha Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Issue Resolution Engineer Lead to join our Melbourne engineering team. You will lead investigations, identify root causes and coordinate rapid, compliant resolutions across design, integration, verification, production and in-service support.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management and a disciplined approach to risk and issue management within a regulated defence environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex engineering investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Manage engineering issues through the resolution process and closure.
• Conduct technical assessments using engineering analysis, testing and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Safety, Quality, Reliability, Verification & Validation and Manufacturing.
• Engage with suppliers and Design Authorities to facilitate problem-solving and issue resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement through trend analysis, lessons learned and reliability growth initiatives.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Issue Resolution Engineer Lead to join our Engineering team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Engineering Resolution Lead, you will lead the investigation and resolution of complex engineering issues identified throughout the product lifecycle, including design, integration, verification, production and in-service support activities. This role provides technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams and supplier organisations, ensuring engineering issues are investigated, resolved, verified and closed in accordance with established governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead complex engineering investigations, identifying root causes and recommending effective corrective actions.
• Manage engineering issues through the resolution process, ensuring timely investigation, resolution and closure.
• Conduct technical assessments using engineering analysis, testing and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Safety, Quality, Reliability, Verification & Validation and Manufacturing.
• Engage with suppliers and Design Authorities to facilitate technical problem-solving and issue resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement through trend analysis, lessons learned and reliability growth initiative

About You:

Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in engineering roles supporting complex products, systems or platforms.
• Experience operating within regulated engineering environments.
• Previous defence industry experience supporting large-scale programs will be highly regarded.
• Strong background in investigation, root cause analysis and technical problem-solving.

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (mandatory).
