Role Introduction

We’re looking for an Inventory Coordinator to join our Purchasing team at Creature Technology. You’ll work alongside our existing Inventory Coordinator to receive, inspect, record, store, and move the parts, materials, and consumables used across our building and workshop. This is a 6-month fixed term contract full-time, hands-on role based at our Port Melbourne office and workshop.

A Little About the Role

This role combines goods receiving, inventory coordination, documentation checks, basic incoming inspection, materials handling, and dispatch. You’ll work closely with Purchasing and teams across our workshop to make sure incoming items are accurately checked, recorded, stored, and available when needed.

Why This Role Matters

The creatures we build rely on thousands of individual parts, materials, components, and consumables coming together at the right time. Accurate inventory records, clearly labelled stock, complete documentation, and careful goods handling all help our teams build safely and keep projects moving. Your work will directly support the engineering, fabrication, and production teams bringing our animatronic creatures to life.

You could be the one if you…

  • Have demonstrated goods‑receiving experience, including checking deliveries against purchase orders and supporting documentation.

  • Have experience loading and unloading goods using a forklift.

  • Have worked in a warehouse, inventory, stores, manufacturing, engineering, or workshop environment.

  • Hold a current Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck (LF Licence).

  • Hold a current Victorian Driver’s Licence.

  • Have experience using a warehouse, inventory, or ERP system.

  • Have basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

  • Bring strong attention to detail, particularly when cross‑referencing goods, records, certificates, and identifying information.

  • Are organised, practical, and comfortable identifying and resolving inventory or delivery discrepancies.

  • Have Australian working rights for the duration of the contract.

  • Can work full‑time onsite at our Port Melbourne office and workshop.

Nice to Have

  • Experience handling material certificates, heat numbers, test certificates, or certificates of conformance.

  • Familiar with end‑to‑end material traceability in a controlled manufacturing environment

  • Basic QA/QC or incoming‑inspection experience.

  • Experience using verniers, pin gauges, or similar measuring equipment.

  • Experience using M1 or a comparable warehouse or inventory management system.

  • Experience preparing goods and pallets for dispatch.

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, instructions, or procedures.

  • Relevant warehousing, inventory, logistics, or materials‑handling certificates or training.

What You’ll Do

  • Receive, unload, unpack, and check incoming goods against purchase orders and supporting documentation.

  • Review and accurately record material certificates, heat numbers, test certificates, and certificates of conformance.

  • Organise delivered items by project, assign storage locations, palletise stock, and prepare parts kits for workshop teams.

  • Complete basic incoming‑goods inspections using equipment such as verniers and pin gauges, escalating discrepancies for further review.

  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions, goods‑receipt records, storage locations, and stock movement information.

  • Monitor stock and consumable levels, including selected items managed through a KANBAN system, and initiate replenishment when needed.

  • Communicate stock arrivals, delivery delays, discrepancies, and inventory availability to Purchasing and workshop stakeholders.

  • Assist Purchasing with supplier follow‑ups for order progress and expected delivery dates.

  • Prepare outbound goods for dispatch, including pallet preparation, wrapping, packing, courier coordination, and dispatch documentation.

  • Collect supplies locally using a company vehicle when required.
