Job summary

Health Equity Matters Limited in Sydney is seeking a proactive Grants Finance Officer (International) to oversee financial management for international programs, ensure donor compliance, and support partner budgeting and reporting.

You will review grants, assist with audits, maintain records, and collaborate across time zones. The role requires advanced Excel, attention to detail, and a commitment to health equity and working with diverse communities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in grant finance and budgeting, ideally within NGOs or international/multilateral organisations.
  • Experience supporting grant allocation and management within international or humanitarian programs.
  • Understanding of donor requirements, financial compliance, and reporting (or strong ability to quickly build this knowledge).
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working remotely and collaborating across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Support partner compliance through financial reviews, capacity assessments, and monitoring activities
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of grant budgets in line with donor and organisational requirements
  • Review partner financial reports and supporting documentation, identifying risks or discrepancies
  • Support timely and accurate donor financial reporting
  • Monitor partner funding disbursements, acquittals, and reconciliations
  • Review payment requests, expense claims, and invoices for accuracy and compliance
  • Contribute to partner agreements, due diligence processes, and ongoing performance monitoring
  • Assist with external audits and donor verification processes
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support continuous improvement of finance processes
