Job summary

Trane Thermo King Pty Ltd in Victoria is seeking a Product and Project Support Engineer. The role is primarily office-based, supporting product engineering, project delivery documentation, technical applications, and internal sales support across the MTA chiller product range.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Some experience in industrial process cooling is preferred.
• Recent graduates with relevant exposure are encouraged to apply.
• Understanding of refrigeration cycles and heat transfer fundamentals is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and AutoCAD.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage a varied workload across technical support, documentation, and project activities.
• Exposure to industrial cooling, chillers, refrigeration, HVAC, or related systems; experience with technical documentation is beneficial.
• Experience supporting technical sales or application engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Support product engineering activities across the MTA chiller product range.
• Coordinate and maintain local compliance requirements for chillers, including technical and regulatory documentation.
• Prepare, maintain, and update product application documentation and technical documents.
• Ensure product-related documentation remains accurate and current with local requirements.
• Assist in developing and maintaining supporting technical information for internal and customer use.
• Prepare project submittals, datasheets, technical documentation, and handover information.
• Support project delivery requirements across mining, health and medical, and other industrial sectors.
• Assist with project-specific technical documentation and coordination.
• Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and issued in a timely manner.
• Work with internal stakeholders to support customer and project requirements.
• Assist the sales team with technical queries and support unit selection and application-related inquiries.
• Provide technical and application support to internal stakeholders and coordinate between technical, project, and sales functions.

Job Summary:

The Product and Project Support Engineer is a primarily office-based role responsible for supporting product engineering, project delivery documentation, technical applications, and internal sales support activities across the MTA chiller product range.

This role will contribute to local compliance requirements for chillers, maintain product application and technical documentation, and support project documentation for customers across sectors including mining, health and medical, and other industrial markets.

The position is suited to either a recent graduate with some relevant industry exposure or experience, or a new graduate who demonstrates strong technical aptitude, a genuine interest in industrial process cooling, and a strong willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support product engineering activities across the MTA chiller product range
• Coordinate and maintain local compliance requirements for chillers, including applicable technical and regulatory documentation
• Prepare, maintain, and update product application documentation and technical documents
• Ensure product-related documentation remains accurate, current, and aligned with local requirements
• Assist in developing and maintaining supporting technical information for internal and customer use

Project Support

• Prepare project submittals, datasheets, technical documentation, and handover information
• Support project delivery requirements across mining, health and medical, and other industrial sectors
• Assist with project-specific technical documentation and coordination
• Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and issued in a timely manner
• Work with internal stakeholders to support customer and project requirements

Technical and Sales Support

• Assist the sales team with technical queries
• Support unit selection and application-related enquiries
• Provide technical and application support to internal stakeholders
• Contribute to effective coordination between technical, project, and sales functions

Skills and Attributes

• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline
• Some experience in industrial process cooling is preferred
• Recent graduates with relevant exposure, as well as new graduates with a genuine interest in the industry and a strong willingness to learn, are encouraged to apply
• Understanding of refrigeration cycles and heat transfer fundamentals is desirable

• Experience supporting technical sales or application engineering activities

This is a broad and developing engineering support role that offers exposure across product engineering, project support, technical documentation, and sales application support. As business needs evolve, the role may develop further to allow deeper specialisation in selected areas based on workload and individual strengths.
