Job summary

Bitek Pty Ltd in Canberra's Hume branch is seeking an Internal Sales & Customer Service Officer to join our growing wholesale team. You will be the first point of contact for trade customers, handling counter, phone and email inquiries, processing orders, quotes and payments, and supporting branch operations.

Ideal candidates will have experience in internal sales or wholesale, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in internal sales, customer service, wholesale or retail.
• Ability to process sales transactions accurately (cash/EFTPOS).
• Familiarity with ERP or order-entry systems (MYOB Advanced is a bonus).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy in order processing.
• Able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A team player with strong collaboration skills.
• Experience working with suppliers or raising purchase orders is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers professionally across counter, phone, and email interactions
• Process sales orders, returns, enquiries, and customer payments (cash/EFTPOS)
• Prepare and follow up customer quotes promptly and accurately
• Review and process backorders; liaise with suppliers and internal teams for fulfilment
• Provide customers with pricing, availability, and general product information
• Maintain a clean, organised, well‑stocked trade counter and showroom
• Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure efficient order fulfilment
• Assist with stocktakes and report any stock discrepancies
• Maintain accurate customer records and contact details including CRM data
• Support external sales representatives with quotes, order entry, and customer follow‑ups
• Assist with overdue account follow‑up alongside accounts team
• Raise purchase orders and receipt stock into the system when required
• Proactively call new and prospective customers to secure new business and support branch growth

We are seeking a motivated Internal Sales & Customer Service Officer to join our Hume branch.

About the Role

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with trade customers, thrives in a fast‑paced wholesale environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
You will be the first point of contact for customers—supporting them at the counter, on the phone, and via email—while processing orders, preparing quotes, answering product enquiries, and helping the branch run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Serve customers professionally across counter, phone, and email interactions
