Job summary

The Salvation Army in Blackburn, VIC, seeks an Internal Communications Coordinator for a max term 18 months, full-time basis. The role supports the Internal Communications Advisor to implement campaigns across the organisation and deliver key pieces for national channels.

You will partner with portfolios, develop content for the national newsletter and Intranet, and work with TSA teams to ensure consistent, timely messaging and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • A degree qualification in Communication, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience in communications, journalism or related fields.
  • Experience within the NFP sector will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Develop content for internal channels aligned with national processes and brand.
  • Create toolkits, communication packs, fact sheets and infographics.
  • Support the Internal Communications team with issues/risks mitigation.
  • Develop professional content for internal channels and ensure consistency.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to keep IC content up-to-date and timely.
  • Build strong relationships with frontline teams to meet communications needs.

About the Role

We are seeking an Internal Communication Coordinator, Location – Blackburn, VIC for a Max Term (18 months) -Full-time opportunity. Purpose of the Role: The Internal Communications Coordinator will support the Internal Communications Advisor to implement internal communications campaigns and activities across the organisation.

This includes partnering with selected portfolios across The Salvation Army to deliver effective communications that meet their requirements, in line with the national internal communications strategy. The role will include the development and delivery of key internal communication pieces for a range of stakeholders, utilising national channels, particularly content development for the national newsletter and Intranet.

The role will work closely with other teams across The Salvation Army (TSA) to facilitate consistent and transparent communication.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Content Development

Ensure communications tactics are developed and delivered in line with national processes and protocols, brand and broader communication objectives.

Develop a range of collateral such as toolkits, communication packs, fact sheets and infographics so TSA personnel are kept informed and engaged. Support the Internal Communications team with mitigating issues/risks.

Communications Delivery

Work with the Internal Communications Team to develop professional, informative and engaging content, using a range of mediums, for internal communication channels.

Ensure internal communication messages are consistent across all mediums and for allocated portfolios and/or departments of the organisation. Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure all content across IC channels is up-to-date and timely.

Stakeholder Engagement

Develop strong, collaborative working relationships with the broader Communications portfolio, including marketing, editorial and publishing, to ensure content is accurate, well timed and in line with strategy, protocols and standards.

Build relationships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, particularly on the frontline, to understand how to better meet their communication needs.

Education and Qualifications Required

A degree qualification in Communication, Marketing, Journalism or a related field. 2+ years experience in communications, journalism or related fields. Experience within the NFP sector will be highly regarded.

Experience in using a range of communication mediums and content development tools. A knowledge of SharePoint will be highly regarded.
