Job summary

WSP Canberra is seeking an Intermediate Professional, Electrical Engineering to contribute to our building services projects in the Australian Capital Territory. With about 3 to 6 years of electrical building services experience, you will design and document power, lighting and security systems and support project delivery across infrastructure, health and education sectors.

You'll work with a multidisciplinary team, applying Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, NCC) and coordinating with clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent.
• Approximately 3 to 6 years’ experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience with electrical power, lighting and building services systems.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC).
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical engineering and project work in line with relevant technical and commercial requirements.
• Undertake design and documentation for electrical building services, including power systems, lighting, communications and electronic security.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, specifications and reports.
• Apply relevant Australian Standards, Codes and project requirements to your designs.
• Coordinate with other building services and engineering disciplines to deliver integrated project outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with clients, authorities, contractors and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings and site inspections where required.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

The Opportunity

Our Property and Buildings Building Services team in Canberra is looking for an Intermediate Professional, Electrical Engineering with approximately 3 to 6 years’ experience to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to build your technical capability while contributing to a diverse range of building services projects. About You

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Approximately 3 to 6 years’ experience in electrical building services design, ideally within a consulting engineering environment.
• Experience in electrical power, lighting and associated building services systems.
• Good understanding of relevant Australian Standards and Codes, including AS/NZS 3000 and the NCC.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet project deadlines and coordinate effectively with stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach.
• A proactive mindset and an interest in continuing to develop your technical and consulting capability.
