Devlin & Co is a well-established accounting and advisory practice in Malvern, specialising in cloud-based solutions and business advisory services. With a strong focus on Xero and modern technology, they pride themselves on delivering practical, client-focused outcomes. Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Prepare and analyze financial statements, annual reports, and tax returns for a diverse portfolio of SME and high-net-worth clients.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to payroll, STP, superannuation, WorkCover, and payroll tax obligations, keeping clients compliant and informed.
  • Strategic Advisory: Assist with tax planning, structuring, and interim financial statements, providing valuable insights to support client decision-making.
  • Technical Expertise: Advise on complex matters such as Div 7A, CGT, FBT, and SMSF, showcasing your growing knowledge and skills.
  • Client Relationship Building: Liaise directly with business owners, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations, contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Professional Development: Take ownership of your client list while actively participating in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Public Practice Experience: Ideally 4+ years in public practice accounting, with Australian experience preferred but not essential.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Xero, Xero Tax, and MYOB, with experience in Xero Practice Manager and CLASS Super being advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple client files efficiently.
  • Proactive Attitude: A positive approach with eagerness to learn and grow in your role and career.
  • Professional Qualification: CPA or CA qualification (or currently completing) is highly regarded but not mandatory.
