Job summary

KBA Accountants on the Sunshine Coast seeks an Intermediate Accountant to join our growing practice. You will work across a varied client portfolio and gain exposure beyond standard compliance, including advisory work.

You will prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts, communicate directly with clients, and support partners with tax planning, while enjoying a supportive, mentoring culture based in Maroochydore.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience in tax compliance in a public practice.
• Hands-on experience with Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Xero, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian tax legislation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

The role

We're looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team. You'll work across a varied portfolio of clients and get exposure to work beyond standard compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships, companies and trusts
• Communicating directly with clients and building strong relationships
• Assisting partners with tax planning and advisory work

About you

We want someone who is confident using their own judgement. You'll take ownership of your work, and when something doesn't fit the usual mould you'll be keen to work out the best approach. You'll know when to ask for guidance, but you won't need step-by-step direction to get the job done. You'll enjoy variety and bring fresh thinking to a problem.

Essential:

• At least 2 years experience in tax compliance in a public practice
