Job summary

Hassell is seeking an Interior Designer to join our team in Perth. You’ll contribute to a diverse range of projects across workplace, education and hospitality, collaborating with architects, strategists and other designers to craft thoughtful interior environments.

The role requires several years of postgraduate design experience, a recognised degree, and strong skills in Revit and rendering tools to deliver high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Several years’ post graduate experience in a design studio environment.
• Portfolio demonstrating design and documentation work across workplace, education and hospitality projects.
• Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative and functional interior design solutions aligned with project objectives and client needs.
• Work across all project stages, from concept design and space planning to documentation and delivery.
• Prepare detailed design presentations with mood boards, sketches, material palettes, and 3D visualisations.
• Produce high-quality documentation in Revit, including joinery drawings, schedules and specifications.
• Contribute to design reviews ensuring consistency with Hassell’s design ethos.
• Engage with clients, consultants and suppliers to coordinate design intent and outcomes.
• Support senior designers in project coordination, budgets, timelines and team communication.

As an Interior Designer at Hassell, you’ll be an integral part of our design team, working on a diverse range of projects across workplace, aviation, education or health. You’ll collaborate with architects, strategists, and other designers to create thoughtful and innovative interior environments that enhance how people live, work, and connect.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develop creative and functional interior design solutions aligned with project objectives and client needs.
• Work across all project stages, from concept design and space planning to documentation and delivery.

• Contribute to design reviews, ensuring consistency and alignment with Hassell’s design ethos.
• Engage with clients, consultants, and suppliers to coordinate design intent and project outcomes.
• Support senior designers in project coordination, including budgets, timelines, and team communication.
• Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and sustainable design practices.

Skills and Experience

• Several years’ post graduate experience, in a design studio environment.
• Experience on workplace, education and hospitality projects, including a portfolio with examples of your design and documentation work.
• Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Enscape (or other rendering tools) is essential.
• Strong conceptual design skills and attention to detail.
• Current full time working rights in Australia are a requirement for this role and ability to start in our Perth studio if successful.
