Job summary

MJD Recruitment Pty is recruiting for a Legal Assistant role within a high-performing Insurance Litigation team. You will handle a broad mix of matters, including financial lines, health, and employment practices liability, while reporting to supportive leaders who empower staff from day one.

Ideal candidates have a Legal Assistant background in Insurance Litigation with strong document handling skills and experience across court processes.

Qualifications

• Legal Assistant experience in Insurance Litigation, plaintiff or defendant.
• Broader litigation experience is valued.
• Familiar with court documents and the litigation process; comfortable using practice management, billing and document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Drafting correspondence and court documents.
• Coordinating filing and service of court documents.
• Preparing briefs to counsel, medical experts and other specialists.
• Monthly billing, debtor management and reporting.
• Opening, maintaining and archiving electronic and physical files.
• Managing calendars, meetings and travel plans.
• Liaising with clients, barristers, experts and other stakeholders.
