Job summary

Hobbs Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Insurance Building Supervisor to oversee a portfolio of insurance claims across the ACT region. The role blends on-site supervision with office-based claim management, requiring strong building knowledge, organisation and customer service during stressful claim scenarios.

You will inspect sites, coordinate subcontractors, review quotes, manage budgets and ensure WHS compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising residential construction or insurance repair projects.
• Knowledge of building practices and Australian Standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Competent with computers and job management software.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Trade qualification in carpentry or related building field preferred.
• Experience in insurance building industry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of insurance building claims from commencement through to completion.
• Conduct site inspections and assess repair requirements.

Hobbs Constructions Pty Ltd is a growing insurance building company specialising in residential restoration and repair works. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Insurance Building Supervisor - ACT and surrounds regionto oversee a portfolio of insurance claims throughout the ACT region

This role combines both on site supervision and office based claim management, making it ideal for someone with strong building knowledge, excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service during what can be a stressful time for our clients.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of insurance building claims from commencement through to completion.
• Conduct site inspections and assess repair requirements.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project timeframes.
• Liaise professionally with homeowners, insurers, loss adjusters, and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare scopes of works, review quotes, and monitor project budgets.
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate job records and provide regular progress updates using company systems.
• Resolve issues proactively to achieve positive outcomes for all parties involved.

About you:

• Previous experience supervising residential construction or insurance repair projects is essential.
• Strong knowledge of building practices and relevant Australian Standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Competent using computers and job management software.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Trade qualification in carpentry or a related building field will be highly regarded.
• Experience within the insurance building industry is preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
