Job summary

WaterNSW seeks an Instrumentation & Controls Electrician to lead maintenance of automation, telemetry, and electrical infrastructure across its network. You will ensure reliable SCADA uptime, configure field devices, and support on-site instrumentation with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role demands hands-on expertise in heavy industry, PLC programming, and strong fault-finding skills, with a NSW driver license and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrical Supervisor Certificate and Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in heavy industry or utilities.
• Experience with PLC programming and field controllers.
• Ability to fault-find from SCADA servers to site instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Asset management of field-based instrumentation and control systems including hardware, networks, power, and site controllers.
• Identify and resolve electrical and automated system faults to minimise downtime.
• Capture and store data for maintenance and related service systems; provide site-specific technical advice.
• Plan, procure, and manage instrumentation and controls maintenance projects with contractors.
• Ensure procurement complies with WaterNSW policies and approved financial authorities.
