Job summary

St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne in Fitzroy, VIC is looking for Instrument Technicians to join the Sterile Processing Centre. The role supports safe reprocessing of reusable medical devices across shifts, including Endoscopy Suite coverage.

Applicants should have a Certificate III/IV in Sterilisation Services, strong reading and interpretation of procedures, solid organisation and teamwork, and a National Criminal History Check. Benefits include salary packaging and flexible working options.

Qualifications

• Completion of, or current enrolment in, a Certificate III or IV in Health – Sterilisation Services.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret reprocessing procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Current National Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination and high-level disinfection of reusable medical devices.
• Reprocessing of endoscopy equipment.
• Check and assemble instrument trays.
• Package sterile barrier systems.
• Sterilisation and sterile storage.
• Check, test and maintain equipment and resources.
• Maintain documentation in line with requirements.
• Identify, troubleshoot and report equipment or process variances.
