Job summary

IDEXX in Sydney is seeking an Instrument Technician II to maintain and repair our in-house diagnostic instruments, ensuring veterinarians can deliver high-quality care.

You'll troubleshoot, disassemble and reassemble instruments, perform preventative maintenance, document repair activities and test results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while upholding safety, quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Technical qualification or background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
  • Approximately 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in equipment repair, manufacturing, technical service, maintenance, or similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and specifications.
  • Aptitude for electro-mechanical repair and experience with mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Experience with medical devices, laboratory instrumentation, or veterinary technology is advantageous but not essential.
  • Flexible team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Permanent Australian work rights are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and test IDEXX diagnostic instruments and associated equipment.

IDEXX is seeking an Instrument Technician II to join our Instrument Services team in Sydney. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing our in-house diagnostic instruments, ensuring veterinary customers can continue to deliver high-quality care to animals.

In This Role

What You Need To Succeed
