Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking an Injury Management Specialist to support claims teams with injury management strategies and collaboration across Return to Work, Mental Health, and Technical Support. The role is based in Sydney CBD with hybrid work arrangements and probation-related two-day-per-week patterns.

You will bring allied health qualifications and injury claims experience to deliver quality coaching, guidance, and best-practice support to teams and stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in injury management within an insurer setting.
  • Tertiary qualifications in allied health such as exercise physiology, physiotherapy or nursing.
  • Strong coaching ability with an approachable attitude.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
  • Highly developed communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strategic mindset and team-oriented approach.
  • Resilience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support claims teams across injury management activities, including treatment and recovery strategies and liaison with providers.
  • Provide coaching to Claims teams around best-practice injury management, feedback and training.

Overview
Injury Management Specialist
  • Sydney CBD location;
  • Hybrid working arrangements – 2 days per week with 9 day fortnight option following probation;

We are excited to announce a number of new Injury Management Specialist opportunities, commencing ASAP at either or CBD or Parramatta branches, offering you the work-life balance you earn! Reporting to the Injury Management Services Lead, you will join a collaborative team of Specialists, who provide advice, quality assurance and coaching to our Claims teams, and contributing to our best practice injury management support.

This is a unique opportunity to bring your allied health qualifications and personal injury claims experience to a truly rewarding role.

Responsibilities
  • Support claims teams across injury management activities, including treatment and recovery strategies, injury management planning, treatment provider liaison, etc;
  • Provide coaching to Claims teams around best-practice injury management, feedback and training;
  • Collaborate with Claims teams and broader specialist functions, including Return to Work, Mental Health and Technical Support;
  • Participate in a range of operational projects and business initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an Injury Management Specialist within an insurer setting, including workers compensation, CTP, etc;
  • Tertiary qualifications in allied health, such as exercise physiology, physiotherapy, nursing, etc;
  • Strong coaching ability, with an approachable attitude;
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills;
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of organisation;
  • A strategic mindset and approach to work;
  • A strong sense of team and collaboration;
  • A resilient attitude.

The position We are currently seeking an Injury Management Advisor to join our office located in Melbourne's CBD. This is a Permanent, fulltime position working in our Worker's Compensation team. The main roles and responsibilities of the Injury Management Advisor position include but are not limited to: Providing advice and/or assistance to claims staff to promote a cost effective, appropriate injury management and durable RTW outcomes centred on a customer focused workers compensation claims service. Advising employers, employer consultants and other stakeholders with updates regarding injury management strategies. Providing customer service to injured workers, employers, employer consultants & other stakeholders. Ensuring all decisions are made in compliance with the Accident Compensation Act 1985/ WIRC Act 2013 and other Legislative requirements. Providing Injury Management assistance/advice to claims teams.

About You

Required: Minimum 3-5 years experience. Prefer a background in a healthcare related field.
