Job summary

Survey Management Solutions (SMS) is seeking a Surveyor to join our Melbourne Infrastructure team, based in Port Melbourne. You'll work with Senior Surveyors and Project Teams on major civil projects across metropolitan Melbourne, using the latest surveying technology to deliver accurate set-out, data collection and quality assurance.

You'll develop your technical skills and build a long-term career in infrastructure surveying by contributing to roads, rail, utilities and transport projects

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Surveying, Spatial Science, Geomatics or a related discipline.
• Approximately 2-5 years' experience in construction or engineering surveying.
• Experience using GPS, Total Stations and modern survey software.
• Machine guidance experience or a willingness to develop these skills.
• A current driver's licence.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning.
• A commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Delivering engineering set-out for infrastructure projects.
• Conducting feature, level and as-built surveys.
• Collecting survey data to support construction activities.
• Assisting with survey computations and data processing.
• Creating digital terrain models and machine guidance files.
• Operating GPS, Total Stations and modern survey equipment.
• Working closely with site supervisors, engineers and construction crews.
• Supporting machine guidance and digital engineering requirements.
• Maintaining accurate survey records and project documentation.
• Ensuring survey work meets required tolerances and project specifications.
• Working safely while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
