Job summary

The Port of Melbourne is seeking a Project Engineer to provide project engineering services across a range of infrastructure projects. You will assist in scoping, planning and delivering projects, supporting Project Managers and Senior Project Managers.

Ideal candidates will have a civil engineering qualification, experience in planning, design and construction, and strong MS Office/Project skills to manage risk, cost control and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
Experience in civil engineering industry (planning, design and construction).
Knowledge of OH&S requirements applicable to construction
Tender and contract management experience
Understanding of principles and methodologies for effective stakeholder engagement
Good project management skills including planning, estimating, scheduling, cost control and administration
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project

Responsibilities

Assist Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to scope, plan and execute allocated projects to ensure quality, on time delivery, within budget.
Conduct risk assessments for each project and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Investigate technical issues related to infrastructure, roads, buildings and services to inform design and construction.
Provide support in project and contract administration including preparation of tenders, briefs, specifications and reports.
