Job summary

Port of Melbourne is seeking an Asset Strategy Engineer to support risk-informed long‑term asset planning and compliant decision‑making across the port’s assets. The role focuses on ensuring Asset Management Plans, Engineering Strategies and risk registers stay current and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in asset management, strategy, risk or infrastructure compliance.
• Knowledge of ISO 55000 principles and asset management frameworks.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Exposure to electrical, rail or infrastructure compliance (desirable).
• Experience with tools such as Excel, Power BI, TechnologyOne (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain Asset Management Plans, Engineering Strategies and Asset Class / Operational Risk Registers.
• Support risk-based asset planning, governance and investment decision‑making.
• Provide assurance and SME input to ensure compliance with internal, engineering and regulatory requirements.
• Support Electrical and Rail compliance monitoring for major and growth projects.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants and delivery teams on asset, risk and compliance matters.
• Contribute to asset management maturity uplift and ISO 55000‑aligned practices.
• Coordinate across internal stakeholders and consultants.
