Job summary

VGW in Perth is building its next generation infrastructure platform on AWS. You will join the Platform Engineering team as an Infrastructure Engineer, focusing on container-based infrastructure and cloud-native operations. You will own and ship projects, run them, and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating container-based infrastructure on AWS.
• Proficiency with Terraform for IaC and GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
• Strong observability mindset with Grafana/Honeycomb.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management.
• Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka) and related AWS services.

We are building VGW's next generation infrastructure platform on AWS. And we have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team in Perth.

In terms of our tech stack, our infrastructure is container-based, running on AWS EKS, supported by MSK, Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudFront, and S3 for front-ends. We provision infrastructure with Terraform and use GitHub Actions for CI/CD. Grafana and Honeycomb are core to our observability stack.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Experience working in a collaborative technical team.
• Previous experience building & operating container-based infra on AWS (preferably with EKS).
• Previous experience with DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and observability, container orchestration and streaming platforms (Kafka).
• Understanding of resilience techniques and patterns.
• Understanding of cloud security techniques.
• Experience with ITIL processes and practices.
