Job summary

Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight operator, seeks an Infrastructure Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance and improvement of infrastructure across our national network. The successful candidate can be based at Brisbane, Newcastle or North Sydney, with regular interstate travel.

You will provide engineering expertise to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance of infrastructure assets, reporting to the Maintenance Manager and collaborating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil/mechanical/electrical) required.
• 2–5 years on-site infrastructure or construction engineering delivery experience.
• Registered engineering status or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation, rail safety requirements and Australian Standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for infrastructure assets and maintenance activities across PN's facilities.
• Develop and deliver maintenance schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Review designs, drawings and work processes for compliance with standards and legislation.
• Support testing, commissioning, defect rectification and root cause investigations.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors and internal teams.
• Contribute to asset management plans and tender documentation.
• Leverage Maximo for maintenance planning and asset compliance.
