Water Corporation in Western Australia seeks an Information Services – Analyst to lead data governance, analytics and information management across the customer domain, enabling trusted data and informed decisions.

You will drive data quality, governance and secure data products while uplifting analytical capabilities for customer billing, revenue assurance and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Data Analytics/Science, Business Information Systems, Information Management/Systems, Computer Science).
• Experience delivering enterprise reporting, data analysis, and operational insights.
• Experience implementing data governance and information management practices.

Responsibilities

• Generate, analyse and interpret complex data to deliver trusted, timely insights for decision-making and performance measures.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand information requirements, data lineage and reporting needs.
• Design, develop, maintain and enhance reporting, analytics and data solutions.
• Provide advice in data analysis, reporting and governance to enable safe use of data assets.
• Maintain data assets, definitions and documentation for transparency and compliance.
• Ensure unified governance of data platforms, reporting systems and applications for reliability and security.

We are looking for a highly motivated Information Services – Analyst to join the Customer Billing Operations business.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead and influence data governance, analytics, and information management practices to enable informed decision-making, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the customer domain. You will be responsible for ensuring the governance, quality, and analysis of customer information assets, delivering trusted data, insights, and reporting to support business outcomes.

You will drive continuous improvement in data quality and information management, strengthen governance frameworks, deliver secure and trusted data products, and foster a strong data culture across the organisation. The role also promotes data stewardship throughout the end-to-end data lifecycle and enhances analytical capabilities to deliver value across customer billing, revenue assurance, customer operations, and strategic business initiatives.

What the role will involve

• Generate, analyse and interpret complex data to deliver trusted, timely and actionable insights that support strategic decision‑making, operational performance and business outcomes. Establish and monitor data quality measures, controls and performance indicators.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand information requirements, data lineage, business process and reporting needs, translating into analytics and insight solutions that drive value and continuous improvement.
• Design, develop, maintain, enhance reporting, analytics and data solutions ensuring information is reliable, accurate, safe and fit for purpose.
• Provide recommendations and specialist advice and expertise in data analysis, reporting, information management and data governance, enabling informed decision‑making and promoting safe use of data assets across the business.
• Maintain data assets, business definitions, documentation and resources to ensure consistency, transparency, compliance and ongoing trust in customer data.
• Provision of unified data governance across capabilities, effective operation of data platforms, reporting systems and business applications so that critical business services remain reliable, available and secure.

Key skills and experience:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Data Analytics/Science, Business Information Systems, Information Management/Systems, Computer Science, etc.)
• Substantial experience in delivering enterprise reporting, data analysis, operational insights and decision-support solutions
• Substantial experience performing complex data analysis to identify trends, root causes, risks and opportunities for business and continuous improvement
• Considerable experience implementing and maintaining data governance, data quality and information management practices as well as uplifting data management capability
• Considerable experience in Enterprise Data & Analytics platforms, catalogues and end-to-end data management lifecycle.
• Relevant experience in providing information technology and business data technical advisory and service within a large organisation.
