Job summary

Torrens University Australia is seeking an Information Security Engineer to oversee the overall cyber security stance across Torrens institutions, applying expertise in IT security to continuously assess and improve security posture. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in security engineering and networking, and experience with threat monitoring and vulnerability assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, MIS, or related field
• 5+ years hands-on security engineering, analysis, or consulting
• 5+ years networking background; Cisco experience preferred
• Experience identifying vulnerabilities with standard tools
• Experience monitoring and assessing security threats
• Remediation or analysis for identified security incidents

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and remediate threats with security team and stakeholders
• Design, build, operate and monitor security infrastructure, platforms, applications and tools
• Mitigate vulnerabilities and manage technology risks across the enterprise
• Conduct vendor security assessments for new vendors
• Monitor, analyze and respond to threats from Torrens security systems
• Log threats and remediation actions in ticketing systems
